In March 2007 she started acting as Kayleigh Morton on the ITV soap drama Coronation Street continuing until September 2008 at which point the Morton family departed Coronation Street. Barden made her movie debut as Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution. Barden played Pea, the lead role in Jerusalem which was staged at the London's Royal Court Theatre before it was moved to the Apollo Theatre West End.
